GETTING READY FOR YOUR PORTRAIT
CLOTHING:
Portraits on location:
Depending on the look you are going for you will need to plan your outfits well. Solid colors are usually best. Patterns usually make for a very busy portrait. Light colors for light colored settings and dark colors for dark colored setting. There are some exceptions to these rules.

Portraits in a studio setting:
Portraits can be at my studio or I can take studio equipment to your location if space permits.
Middle tones or deep solid colors are great for our traditional darker backgrounds.
White or pastels are perfect for a hi-key look on our white background.
Avoid busy patterns that detract from your face.
Dress from head to toe, you won't want to limit your posing options.
For group portraits, do not wear contrasting colors. Everyone should wear a similar color.
